ECUSA - Scripture and Interpretation

Here are gathered the posts that deal with how Holy Scripture is interpreted and applied within the halls of the Episcopal Church (USA). Needless to say, the manner in which the current leadership of the Church treats Scripture and its interpretation leaves a great deal to be desired. Their approach can be summed up in this infamous epithet attributed to the Rt. Rev. Charles E. Bennison, Jr.: "The Church wrote the Bible, and the Church can change it." (Bishop Bennison claims he was misquoted, but the disclaimer is two years before the cited article.) Even if he didn't say it, the quote expresses what the Church's leadership manifestly believes.
