San Joaquin set the bar ;-) on the financial toxicity involved with trying to leave the Episcopal organization. The high cost seen as being a deterrent to others. I don't think the deterrent argument works because folks who want to leave will just walk away and create the same number of non-viable churches anyway. 815 cares less about evangelism than they do about preserving its "legacy", a legacy which is destined to make the captain of the Titanic's legacy look like great by comparison.
