Especially the executive with royal authority to initiate expenditures, and the way expenses start running recklessly ahead of income. PTL had intense press scrutiny all the time, and it still wasn't enough to stop the criminal recklessness - they were as secretive about finances as TEC. It finally took a sex scandal to blow the whole thing open. But TEC is an 'establishment' organization that can count on polite deference from the press, and I don't think Mrs. Schori will oblige us with a lurid sexual escapade, so I expect this will continue until the whole rotten edifice collapses in bankruptcy. Shouldn't take to long, either.Dr. Mabusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01792194424034622756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759178030677978044.post-42133196981869210672010-08-30T22:22:02.575-07:002010-08-30T22:22:02.575-07:00martin5, I am sorry about your troubles in trying ...martin5, I am sorry about your troubles in trying to comment. In March of this year, YTD shows $367 but in March $95,385 was spent. These expenses are being covered through a loan secured by mortgaging undeveloped diocesan properties (giving us the irony of lawsuits to recover property being funded through the sale of other property). My understanding is that the line of credit secured by the properties is $2,000,000, and that the Diocese has run through most of it. Additionally, property values have dropped here as everywhere else, so while it waits for the value of its properties to recover--if ever--the Diocese has had to carry annual interest charges of some $100,000, one result of which last year was +Lee's early departure to save money on his unpaid salary.Steven in Falls Churchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06911937188910565687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759178030677978044.post-6730007379637770632010-08-30T13:17:13.865-07:002010-08-30T13:17:13.865-07:00Simply amazing.
