Are you so threatened by this that you need to form a posse to make loud noises to try and scare away the Anglican faithful whose years of prayers have finally been answered?

One of the most disturbing aspects of the Anglican reaction to all of this is the sheer nastiness coming from some quarters. At least you "recognize the kindness" - much better than many I have read about recently.

You have the freedom to ignore what the pope says; please don't try and make others "actively reject" the Catholic faith as well. Our Anglican patrimony is recognized and a safe haven is provided for it (and us) as well. Let all those who desire unity in the Catholic faith come forward.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00681296306358764468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759178030677978044.post-77010509628737038522009-11-10T10:55:46.509-08:002009-11-10T10:55:46.509-08:00Mr. Haley... Individual parishioners do not need an AC to join the Catholic Church -- they can find a Catholic parish and priest that they like, and join at any time. But what the AC does is make it possible for an entire parish to join the Church as a unit, and still keep the clergy with whom they are most familiar, and their Anglican rites (adapted somewhat to acknowledge the authority of the Magisterium).

See this post at StandFirm for a good discussion of the benefits of going Roman versus staying Anglican. The main obstacle for most Episcopalians (myself included), I suspect, is that there is no room for Anglican-style fudging on matters of doctrine: you are expected to adhere only to the Catholic (and not the Anglican) catechism. Art. I sec. 5 of the AC affirms:

"The Catechism of the Catholic Church is the authoritative expression of the Catholic faith professed by members of the Ordinariate."A. S. That is what they have been employed by the individual parish corporations and ordained to do.

Parishioners need your expertise in what the invitation of Rome specifically requires of them.

Please help us.bluebird272https://www.blogger.com/profile/01138572507411756160noreply@blogger.com
