The Doorbell - a Viral Video
The video below is one of the many entries submitted to the Power Line Prize Competition, which awarded a grand prize of $100,000 for the best dramatization, in any form, of the national debt crisis. It did not win one of the top prizes, but it is currently a candidate for the People's Choice Award. Just one minute long, it would make a perfect TV spot to spread the message:

It's elegant in its simplicity. Less is more.
I only wish I had enough ready cash to put this on the air across the nation for a few weeks. Perhaps that might rouse enough of our fellow citizens from their stupor to vote for a candidate intent on actually shrinking the government to a size more consistent with the words of the Constitution.
Unfortunately, I am not confident that it would work, and am slowly coming to the conclusion that Frederic Bastiat was correct, at least with regard to democracy, in stating that: "Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else."
